👑 Are you ready to pivot with me? 👑

Your path to progress starts here

What’s up, Hustlers!

It’s been a big year, fam! Can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving? I like to use this week to show love, express gratitude, and set new goals.

I’m feeling especially grateful for you, my family, and the opportunity to start something new with this newsletter. It’s also time to start thinking about your next “pivot.” Here we go!

Xx Robin

P.S. The Pivot will give you a weekly rundown of the best recs from my superhero toolkit—all designed to help you grow. You're receiving it because you’re an OG who signed up with me on my RobinNYC or Swagger Society website. 👑

 .WHAT I’M COOKING.

Vegan apple pie. Chef Athena and I just whipped up the most delicious vegan apple pie to share with our fam. I wanted to document our baking, thinking I'd grab some tips to send your way. But I ended up with a full-on performance by Athena, belting out her new favorite song. 💗

If you're looking to add vegan apple pie into your Queen Cuisine cookbook, I've got you. Here's my favorite recipe. (P.S. I swap the cane sugar for coconut sugar, RxSugar, or monk fruit sugar to reduce sugar in the pie but maintain sweetness.)

 .WHAT I’M DOING DIFFERENTLY.

Cheering on my future self. Next time you’re really feeling yourself—full of energy, hitting your goals, and being a badass
take a moment to jot down a note or record a voice memo to come back to in that moment you inevitably stumble. Let's face it, we all do! We all make mistakes! The bigger the goal, the more hustle and grace you’ll need.

So give yourself that grace. When you’re in a tough moment (or you just can’t stop hitting snooze on your alarm clock), go back to that note and remind yourself that setbacks are just part of the journey. Stay consistent and be there for your future self.

 .WHAT I’M READING.

Adam Grant's Hidden Potential. It’s a must-read to stop underestimating yourself. After all, growth isn’t a byproduct of genius, it’s a byproduct of effort. We always have the ability to give that extra bit of hustle—just remember to find the moments of joy along the journey.

 .WHAT’S INSPIRING ME.

Diabetes Awareness Month. After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as an adult, I’ve made it my mission to not let my diagnosis define me or hold me back. Insulin is in my superhero toolkit.

Scrolling through the comments on this post, I see so many of you doing the exact same thing. We’re more resilient than we know, and sometimes what seems like the biggest obstacle is actually an opportunity to show our greatest strengths.

 .WHAT I’M GIFTING THIS SEASON.

The very best for your Thanksgiving host. Headed to a loved one’s home for the holiday and don’t want to show up empty handed? These are the host gifts I love to both give and receive around the crazy holidays: Kin Spritz is great for a party. Cozy Earth has the best bedding and coziest loungewear (use my code ROBIN1494 for 45% off 😉). And the Jennifer Fisher salt trio is a staple in our house.

What are you shopping for this holiday season? Respond to this email and let me know!

Here’s a question I get all the time that feels especially important during the holiday season when boundaries are tested constantly and calendars are booked down to the hour.

Question: â€œYou’ve mentioned the importance of saying no. How do you specifically do that gracefully and without guilt?”

— Jennifer

Answer: To me, saying “no” is just as important as saying “yes.” Because it’s saying “no” that allows us to protect both our peace and our “yes.”

So this holiday season, if you want to say no but you’re not quite sure how? Remember that there’s nothing wrong with a simple, gracious “no thank you” or “thanks for the invitation, but that doesn’t work for me.” All you have to do is give your answer and move on—don’t dwell on it.

And if you’re finding it hard not to dwell? Remember that people aren’t thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are. In fact, they’re probably wondering how you made that “no” look so easy!
